The HDPE roller being one third the weight of its steel alternative, requires less energy on 'start-up' and during operation. HDPE Roller is designed to operate in extreme temperatures, harsh operating conditions, and in highly corrosive, chemical or coastal conditions which are known to attack and destroy conventional steel rollers
Roller failure
Additionally, in instances of roller failure, a HDPE roller can significantly reduce belt damage and 'down-time' due to the absence of steel shrapnel from the seized roller
